It’s that time of year again; the time when all us homeschooling teachers — and non-homeschooling teachers, for that matter– are doing our best to get organized. To that end, I thought I’d take some time and share some different (FREE, or course!) planner options that I’ve found floating round the web. If you don’t find one you like, you might at least find some inspiration in creating your own, perfectly fit to you.

Getting started:

Not sure how to get started making your own planner? Kirstenjoyawake.com has great instructions, links to some forms to get you started and even a video.

Need help with planning your year in general? Here’s an especially helpful post from Mama of Many Blessings.

Homeschool Discoveries provides a good description of her own planner with lots of links to free resources at the end.

 Techie versions:

Mardel offers a free online lesson planner that includes a calendar, lesson plans, curriculum list, assignments, grading, book library, and a section for reports and transcripts. (And we love Mardel, because they carry Times Tales!)

Skedutrack is a free online lesson planner, scheduler and tracking system.

Paper people versions:

Donna Young is the long-standing resource for planner printables (and most other printables!) in the homeschooling community. She does a nice job of explaining how to put a planner together and provides resources for a variety of styles and sizes. If you take some time to start browsing the tabs on her site, I can almost guarantee you’ll be amazed at how many free resources she has available.

New Bee Homeschooler has created some lovely planner pages (some editable), complete with several cover options. These are perfect for placing in a three-ring binder. Just follow her instructions and print what you need. (Don’t let the photos above mislead you, she has some great boy version covers as well.)

I really LOVE this printable from www.livingwellspendingless.com. She even includes a cleaning and organizing section where you could assign your children zones each day.

That should be enough to get you started. I can’t believe how many great resources there are out there. I’ll add more over the next few days. Happy planning!
